It suits the driver who has to be sensible and would rather not be: five seats, three medium bags, a powered tailgate and a 4.5-litre petrol engine. The blue paint with a beige interior is a welcome change from black-on-black. For a proper drive, take the E311 towards Ras Al Khaimah and the Jebel Jais road; in town, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, parking assist and remote engine start (handy for cooling the cabin before you get in) make daily life easy.
The generous mileage is the pleasant surprise: 300 km a day, 2,100 km a week and 6,000 km a month. The weekly AED 4,550 comes to AED 650 a day, AED 350 below seven single days; the monthly AED 14,700 is AED 490 a day. Minimum rental is two days (AED 1,400), extra kilometres cost AED 5, Salik gates AED 5 each, and 5% VAT applies.

Rental terms
Kilometres
Allowance: 300 km on the daily rate, 2,100 km on the weekly rate, 6,000 km on the monthly rate. Above the allowance you pay AED 5 per km. For scale: Dubai to Abu Dhabi and back is roughly 280 km.
Fuel
Like for like: bring the car back with the fuel level you received it with. If it comes back lower, the company refuels it and bills you, usually above pump price.
Security deposit
AED 1,000, blocked on your credit card rather than charged and released within 30 days of the return. To skip the deposit, ask for the zero-deposit option: a one-off fee that is not refunded. A deposit paid by debit card, cash or transfer comes back by manual refund, which takes longer.
Rental rules
Basic insurance is part of the price; full cover with a lower excess is usually an extra.
Shortest rental: 2 days.
A rental day is 24 hours from pick-up, so a return that is an hour late can cost a full extra day. Handing the car back early may change the rate you pay.
