The Mazda 3 is a sensible daily driver with a little polish: a 2.0-litre engine, automatic gearbox, adaptive cruise control for the long E11 stretches, parking sensors, rear air-con vents and automatic emergency braking. It suits a commute from Khalifa City to the Corniche, weekend errands at Yas Mall or a Friday run to a Saadiyat beach. Two bags fit in the boot.
Short stays are flexible too. AED 140 buys a day with unlimited kilometres, and the weekly AED 910 (about AED 130 a day) is also mileage-free. Thirty daily rentals would total AED 4,200, so the AED 1,900 monthly rate saves AED 2,300 – though monthly contracts carry a 3,000 km allowance, per the company's note, with AED 0.35 for each extra km. Rental terms
Kilometres
Allowance: unlimited on the daily rate, 4,500 km on the monthly rate. Above the allowance you pay AED 0.35 per km. For scale: Abu Dhabi to Dubai and back is roughly 280 km.
Fuel
Like for like: bring the car back with the fuel level you received it with. If it comes back lower, the company refuels it and bills you, usually above pump price.
Security deposit
AED 1,500, blocked on your credit card rather than charged and released within 30 days of the return. A deposit paid by debit card, cash or transfer comes back by manual refund, which takes longer.
Rental rules
Basic insurance is part of the price; full cover with a lower excess is usually an extra.
A rental day is 24 hours from pick-up, so a return that is an hour late can cost a full extra day. Handing the car back early may change the rate you pay.
