The Xterra comes into its own beyond the skyline: the road to Hatta, the climb up Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, or a run down to the Fujairah coast. Seven seats mean the whole family comes along, but with every seat taken only one medium bag fits, so pack soft bags or fold the third row when you need boot space. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, parking sensors and built-in GPS are on board.
The monthly plan is where it gets interesting: AED 4,200 is AED 140 a day with 5,000 km included. Daily hire costs AED 200 with 300 km per day and a two-day minimum (AED 400). Weekly pricing is on request, extra kilometres cost AED 0.6, and 5% VAT is added.

Rental terms
Kilometres
Allowance: 300 km on the daily rate, 5,000 km on the monthly rate. Above the allowance you pay AED 0.6 per km. For scale: Dubai to Abu Dhabi and back is roughly 280 km.
Fuel
Like for like: bring the car back with the fuel level you received it with. If it comes back lower, the company refuels it and bills you, usually above pump price.
Security deposit
AED 1,000, blocked on your credit card rather than charged and released within 30 days of the return. A deposit paid by debit card, cash or transfer comes back by manual refund, which takes longer.
Rental rules
Basic insurance is part of the price; full cover with a lower excess is usually an extra.
Shortest rental: 2 days.
A rental day is 24 hours from pick-up, so a return that is an hour late can cost a full extra day. Handing the car back early may change the rate you pay.
