With 250 km a day included and overage at AED 1 per kilometre, the ZS is an easy choice for a road trip from Abu Dhabi to Al Ain, out to Liwa or up the coast to Dubai. It is a 1.5-litre crossover with five seats, room for two bags, cruise control, Bluetooth, rear climate control and automatic emergency braking: a straightforward, brand-new car.
Prices are cut on every tariff: AED 119 a day instead of AED 159, AED 699 a week instead of AED 999, and AED 2,199 a month instead of AED 2,599. Rental terms
Kilometres
Allowance: 250 km on the daily rate, 1,500 km on the weekly rate, 4,500 km on the monthly rate. Above the allowance you pay AED 1 per km. For scale: Abu Dhabi to Dubai and back is roughly 280 km.
Fuel
Like for like: bring the car back with the fuel level you received it with. If it comes back lower, the company refuels it and bills you, usually above pump price.
Security deposit
AED 1,500, blocked on your credit card rather than charged and released within 30 days of the return. A deposit paid by debit card, cash or transfer comes back by manual refund, which takes longer.
Rental rules
Basic insurance is part of the price; full cover with a lower excess is usually an extra.
Shortest rental: 2 days.
A rental day is 24 hours from pick-up, so a return that is an hour late can cost a full extra day. Handing the car back early may change the rate you pay.
