Small, quick and easy to park, the JCW is made for Dubai's beach side: coffee at La Mer, sunset on Kite Beach, dinner at City Walk and home again without circling for a space. It suits a couple or a solo traveller – there are four seats, a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an automatic gearbox, plus adaptive cruise control and built-in GPS for the Sheikh Zayed Road stretches.
Majestic sets a four-day minimum. After that the numbers are simple: a week at AED 1,500 is about AED 214 a day, AED 75 less than seven days at the daily rate, and a month at AED 6,000 works out to AED 200 a day – AED 750 below 30 single days. Each period has its own allowance (250 km a day, 1,600 km a week, 4,500 km a month), and extra kilometres cost AED 5.

Rental terms
Kilometres
Allowance: 250 km on the daily rate, 1,600 km on the weekly rate, 4,500 km on the monthly rate. Above the allowance you pay AED 5 per km. For scale: Dubai to Abu Dhabi and back is roughly 280 km.
Fuel
Like for like: bring the car back with the fuel level you received it with. If it comes back lower, the company refuels it and bills you, usually above pump price.
Security deposit
AED 1,000, blocked on your credit card rather than charged and released within 30 days of the return. A deposit paid by debit card, cash or transfer comes back by manual refund, which takes longer.
Rental rules
Basic insurance is part of the price; full cover with a lower excess is usually an extra.
Shortest rental: 4 days.
A rental day is 24 hours from pick-up, so a return that is an hour late can cost a full extra day. Handing the car back early may change the rate you pay.

Driver & licence
